Susan has 20 years of experience in higher education as a Financial Aid Director, Admissions Director and Enrollment Management Executive Director overseeing multiple student services areas. She is a respected leader in state, regional and national financial aid and admissions associations, including serving on boards as President, Treasurer, and Secretary; chairing many association committees, such as Training, Membership and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging; and serving as a leadership mentor in financial aid. She is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and has presented at all levels. Her favorite volunteer gig was as a faculty member for many years at RMASFAA’s annual Summer Institute, a nationally recognized week of intensive training for financial aid administrators.

The majority of Susan’s career has been dedicated primarily to financial aid, and she maintains a comprehensive understanding of ever-changing federal aid rules. She can help institutions clearly and effectively communicate complex information to students and families while training staff to achieve and sustain regulatory compliance. As a first-generation student herself, Susan has a passion for enhancing college access and student success and can help you implement effective strategies for student outcomes and achieve operational efficiencies across your institution’s student service areas. She is also an accomplished executive in enrollment management; her strategic approach to admissions and financial aid administration has resulted in increased student recruitment, enrollment, and retention, and she can help your institution better leverage funds to support its strategic goals.

Outside of work, Susan enjoys attending theatre performances—especially musicals—visiting art museums, traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with friends, family and her five chonky blanket walruses (also known as cats…).
