Deb specializes in working with tax-exempt organizations to address a wide range of tax issues, including those that may threaten organizations' exempt status or result in unexpected penalties. She guides organizations through tax compliance and presents key Form 990 information and changes in tax regulations to committees and boards.
When you work with Deb, you can expect extensive understanding of the issues affecting tax-exempt organizations. She helps organizations present information from not only a technical standpoint, but also from a public perception standpoint since much of the information is required to be made available to the general public.
As leader of the nonprofit industry, Deb also keeps a pulse on trends and emerging topics on a national basis. She participates in key forums, monitors relevant data, and uses client feedback to identify shifts and opportunities for clients. This proactive approach enables Deb to anticipate and lead conversations that help nonprofits act swiftly and fosters innovation.
Outside of work, you can find Deb on the sidelines of baseball and football fields and in the bleachers at hockey rinks cheering on her son. She also enjoys making warm, cozy quilts for family and friends to use during Minnesota winters.
